I ran across this on Ebay in the reloading section. It looks just like a pecan cracker I kept when cleaning out my parents house. My dad must have had it for years.

Can anyone confirm that it is a shotgun shell reloader?

Local gun show a fellow had one on the table as a shotgun loader too. Since I have used one for years I told him what it was and made him unhappy. Seems he thought it was rare and wanted $60 for the thing when they sell fro $19.95 brand new.

Yes it's a shotgun reloader but it only reloads 15 gage 2" shells and it is missing the essential pinfire primer injector so it is basically useless and may as well be used for cracking walnuts. :kidding:

Why do you ask?

It seems to be in the nutcracker section of Ebay now.

That "cracker" would come in real handy when interrogating a non-uniformed combatant at Gitmo.

I spent many an evening with one of those things and a basket full of pecans, cracking nuts for Mom's pecan pies.

I just got done reloading 2000 12ga in 35 minutes. You have to just know how to run the thing.

There are very old vertical shot shell loaders that look similar.
Not similar enough to confuse anyone who'd ever used a pecan cracker.

There are/have been other old presses under the guise of reloaders. I have contacted the sellers and explained that they are button presses for upholstery, or an old press to clamp an elelectric drill to, etc.

Those presses were not pulled out of the vintage reloading section. The weasels gotta make their bucks any way they can.

Nutcracker. I have one on the shelf out in the garage. Some of the older shotgun reloaders kinda looked like that, but usually have 2 rods or rails. One was just sold on Ebay that was listed in the Texan reloader area. People sell stuff on Ebay w/o a clue as to what it is or how it is used. Good for a laugh or 2, usually. Not so much dishonesty IMHO, as ignorance.

It would be easy to make a crimper out of it.
