What is the size of the Lee 12 gauge slug in 1 oz.? .705? .710? I may buy one of the Lee slugs moulds and use that slug for deer season this year
Thanx in advance ....

RE: LEE 1oz cast slugs
Mine measure 0.6750" (remember they load inside a normal trap wad)

Thanx Redgum for the info. I have a Navy Arms double barrel blackpowder shotgun that both barrels are Cyl/Cyl bores. I'm planning on using a wad also for the slugs. Knowing the size will help me pick the correct wad. If the wad has a collapsable plunger, that has to be cut off as that could act like a space between the powder and wad. I've shot round ball in the past from the gun, but I'm interested in trying hollow based shotgun slugs as I think the gun will shoot well with them.

I also have a 12 ga. Lee slug mold and i've shot it a few times with a smooth bore. Use a slower powder than Clays. Try Unique that seemed to work the best for me. The faster powders were all over the place. I also used a 1 oz shot wad "just as" and a regular crimp. I am still learning with this one. Good luck keep us informed.
