Who has or makes 8ga lead slugs. Maybe ones with
hollow base and fitting bore tight, for smoothbore. Ed

http://www.jt-bullet-moulds.co.uk/moulds.htm will make a round ball mould to your specs and might know who makes slug moulds. It's easier to get a bore fitting RB to shoot in a smoothbore anyway.

Winchester makes, or used to make 8 ga. slug loads. They are, or were, for breaking up "clinkers" in "kilns." Whatever clinkers and kilns may be. Don't know if they sell, or sold, the slugs as components.

I'm sure NEI makes a mould for 8 ga. slugs.

I have some of the Win 3 oz kiln slugs but they are only .795", and yiou have
to use a plastic wad deal for them. 8ga is .935" in smooth. But the plastic
cupwad/overpowder wad one piece deal you get doesn't go clear
to the top of slug, and slug is just a cylinder. A setup ok for shooting clinkers
out of kilns, but I want a rounded nose and hollow base so they won't
be unstable, tight in a ,935" bore, and
they won't be so heavy, and will be a little bit accurate. IE a scaled up
10 gauge Federal slug that I have here in 10ga 3.5" case. I just need to find
someone making them or able to make. My 2 dozen projects gives no time
to cast my own. I know if someone would do it there'd be guys wanting them.Ed

Ed,

I'll look into an 8 Ga slug for you. What weight are you needing? Does it need to be a hollow base?
