I thought this was interesting! I haven't even bought one this year. It also mentioned that residents of Illinois and California are buying in record numbers! Hmmmm, wonder why?

Printed in the Excuse-Nuisance, but the byline is from the Houston Chronicle. They left out mentioning the greatest gun salesman of all time, though.

It could be that even those on the left are waking up to tyranny.

Texas leads the country with 1.4 million forms filled out, but the total number for the nation is 174 million, Even if we went with Obummers count of the states, the numbers don't even come close to jiving.
I especially like he last sentence.

The ATF's Elder said the large number of requests to buy guns has the potential to increase his agency's workload, but he stressed that most of the purchasers are considered to be law-abiding citizens.

If they think about doing there job ALL of the gun purchasers are law abiding citizens.

Yeah, I liked that last sentence too! If they passed the check, they have to be good citizens!

If you think Illinois gun sales are up now just wait till Jan 1 2014 when our CCW permits are made available.

Low estimates are in the "HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS" in the first year alone.[smilie=p:[smilie=w:[smilie=w:[smilie=s:

Well I'll admit to doing my share to get that number up and will probably help it some more before the end of the year :)

In Maryland applications for purchase of "Regulated Firearms", hand guns and so called "Assault Rifles", so far this year have exceeded the two previous years combined. This is in light of new anti gun laws passed at the insistence of Governor (Hope To Go To The White House) O'Malley. The only measure we have is the number of applications, as of 10/04 there were 117,690 submitted, many of these were for multiple purchases of more than one regulated firearm. This number does not include regular rifles and shotguns which do not go through this system.

As Of October 1st 2013 in Maryland most people will require a Handgun Qualification License to purchase a handgun. The license will cost from $100 to $300 depending on the training required and will require the submission of fingerprints and a background check of NICS plus 15 additional databases. When you actually buy a handgun there is still another background check. Any "Assault Rifles" ("Assault Pistols" were already banned) not owned before October 1, 2013 are banned in the state. If you move to Maryland you have 90 days to register all your regulated firearms with the State Police. If you legally bought an "Assault Rifle" in another state after Oct. 1st and then move to Maryland you may not bring the gun to this state.

"Assault Rifles" and magazines for rifles or handguns with a capacity of more than 10 rounds can not be bought sold or made in Maryland except for certain specific exemptions Bretta for example. So anyone in Maryland who owns an "Assault Rifle" and wants to get rid of them has to sell it out of state.

The actual madness is much more complicated than this but from the high points posted above you'll get the idea. Yes the law suits are already in the works and more will follow.

WOW

You desperately need help.

Your state rifle assn AND the N R A should be challenging those laws in district court as anti 2A and do it now.

If we could beat such restrictions with ALL of our anti gun politicians you can also.

And I thought we had it bad.

Two court challenges have already been filed more expected. The Clinton appointed judge dismissed the request for a temporary restraining order in both cases, the next step is the hearings on the injunctions, in front of the same judge. This will probably be on its way to the supremes because neither side will give in.

Maryland has another case at the Supreme Court right now, it made the "Petition of the Day" on Oct 3rd. Here is the link:
http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/woollard-v-gallagher-2/

In that link it has links to the various Briefs that have been filed in support of a petition for a writ of certiorari (means hearing by Supreme Court). Reading these briefs is an education in second amendment rights.

Here are links to the latest cases in Maryland:

Maryland Shall Issue, Inc., Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore, Inc., Maryland Licensed Firearms Dealers Association, Maryland State Rifle and Pistol Association, National Shooting Sports Foundation, several firearms dealers and individual Maryland citizens, have filed suit to stop the implementation of Maryland’s new gun law which is set to take effect Tuesday. The law will ban certain common and popular semiautomatic long guns and restrict the purchase or sale of magazines with a capacity in excess of ten rounds.

I'd be shocked if the Chicago politicians/crooks - Rahm Emmanuel, documented Israeli citizen, doesn't find a way to dance & duck the law and issue NO permits, at least till somebody takes him to court to force the issue. Mike Good luck guys....
