Was browsing the net when I stumbled on this site (http://www.wenesco.com/melt.htm#softop)... The lead pots seem very familiar... but the name does not. :)

The thing to look at is the prices!

Similar, but not exact. So maybe Wenesco refined the design and theirs actually work.

Does Lee even make their pots? Lyman offers a similar pot too. Perhaps Wenesco makes pots for both companies.

They will work the same as the small pots are identical. Never had much issue with the Lee pots except that they are too small. With clean alloy and some care I have cast many thousands of pistol boolits prior to my making of larger units myself.

My guess is that Lee went to a pot maker and specified what they
wanted and have the make build them for them. Now it looks like the
maker is selling direct on the web, but not oriented towards our hobby.

Considering the price is more than DOUBLE a Lee pot of the exact design and look, I really doubt if that company makes them, sells them to Lee, Lee marks them up to make a profit, and sell them for 1/2 the original maker! That is NOT how the OEM/VAR market works in any market. (That's Original Equipment Manufacturer/Value Added Reseller............ for inquiring minds).

As to the comments on Lee pots NOT working..............I have 3 of them and never had a single problem. Great product at a great value. Have recommended them to many of my casting buddies. You can pay ~$70 to melt lead or ~$250+ to melt lead the same way..........it's all up to you.

Melting with electric heat is melting with electric heat.

This is the same as the Harbor Freight and Lymann ultrasonic cleaners. Same unit, same specs, they work the same, one's less expensive. Both companies sourced the same unit and put a different name on it. One name comes with a higher price tag. I like to tell people, "I cannot turn lead into gold, but I can spray paint it to look like gold and sell it to you as gold. But it's still lead."
