Class Always Shows and Cream Always Rises to the TOP

“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” I Samuel 16:7

A doctor had his TV on in his office when the news of the military base shootings at Ft. Hood, TX came on. The husband of one of his employees was stationed there.
He called her into his office and as he told her what had happened, she got a text message from her husband saying, "I am okay." Her cell phone rang right after she read the message. It was an ER nurse,” I’m the one who just sent you a text, not your husband. I thought it would be comforting but I was mistaken in doing so. I am sorry to tell you this, but your husband has been shot 4 times and he is in surgery."

The soldier's wife left Southern Clinic in Dothan, AL and drove all night to Ft. Hood. When she arrived, she found out her husband was out of surgery and would be OK. She rushed to his room and found that he already had two visitors there to comfort him. He was just waking up and found his wife and the visitors by his side. The nurse took this picture:

What? No news crews and cameras? This is how people with class respond and pay respect to those in uniform.
I sent my cousin in Fayetteville, N.C. (Retired from Special Forces) that picture of Geo. W. visiting the wounded at Ft. Hood. I got this reply:

What is even better is the fact George W. Bush heard about Fort Hood, got in his car without any escort, apparently they did not have time to react, and drove to Fort Hood. He was stopped at the gate and the guard could not believe who he had just stopped. Bush only asks for directions to the hospital then drove on. The gate guard called that "The President is on Fort Hood and driving to the hospital."

The base went bananas looking for Obama. When they found it was Bush, they immediately offered escort. Bush simply told them it was o.k. and to let him visit the wounded and the dependents of the dead.

He stayed at Fort Hood for over six hours.

Obama flew in days later and held a "photo opportunity" session in a gym, and did not even go to the hospital.

All this I picked up from two soldiers here who happened to be at Fort Hood when it happened.
This Bush/Obama/Ft. Hood story is something that should be sent to every voter in the US. Those who wanted "change". You certainly got it.

Someone, PLEASE, show me anything that will tell us that Obama has ANY respect for the country he leads! I'm looking for just a little sign of respect.

President Obama has no respect for anyone or anyone's opinion other than his own.

Good morning
Thanks 292 . I first enjoyed the I Samuel 16:7 verse. Reminded me of Romans 2:29.
Every one is making choices who they will follow. Who they will serve.
It is always refreshing to be reminded some still have a heart that is guided by more than their own selfish emptiness.
The books are being recorded by He who does look into the inner man.

from Snopes ( http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/forthood.asp )

Claim: Account describes a visit by former president George W. Bush and Laura Bush with survivors of the Fort Hood shootings.

MIXTURE:

TRUE: Photograph shows former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush visiting a survivor of the Fort Hood shootings.

FALSE: President Bush arrived at Fort Hood unannounced and without a Secret Service escort.

FALSE: President Bush was asked to leave Fort Hood by the White House.

FALSE: President Obama merely "held a photo session in a gym" at Fort Hood and did not visit wounded soldiers there.

Mr. Obama feels the way he does because he's the smartest guy in the room. Just ask him...... Mike

IMHO this is a better account of President Bush visiting Fort Hood Than the progressive Snopes account.
http://www.factcheck.org/2010/02/bush-at-ft-hood/

Sherzer described the visit as being "as spontaneous as a visit from a former president can be" — it was planned that same day. But Sherzer told us that Bush’s visit was coordinated with base officials, that he did not refuse escort, and that he did not overstay his welcome.

"It is accurate to say he did drop everything to go," Sherzer said, but he added that "we went about it in the appropriate way, which was to coordinate with the base personnel and Secret Service." And Bush stayed for about two hours, not the six the e-mail claims.

As for the claim that Obama did not visit the hospital, the White House sent us press reports showing that Obama visited both ambulatory and non-ambulatory victims, and the families of the dead on Nov. 10, though much of the visit was not public. The e-mail is correct that this was several days after Bush’s visit on Nov. 6.

You never really see the truth....till later on. The people who despise who we have in office at the time, will do everything in their powers to make the man in charge look bad.
It gets old.....tiring, and just plain out frustrating.
Snopes is a place I've found that's about 95% BS.
You hear all this buzz on the net about he did this or he did that, and all it's doing is putting a deeper rift between political factions and the people in this country.

Obama didn't do photo shoots with the wounded, he supposedly didn't show sympathy to people who lost loved ones in a mass shooting....but it's funny that so far in each mass shooting thats happened in his terms in office, he's showed up to offer his condolences.

Bush shows up periodically to visit wounded soldiers and see returning soldiers returning from overseas.
Bush never showed up to VA Tech when that idiot shot the students or to any other mass shooting we had in his terms.

Obama has a chimp for a wife, an idiot for his running mate.
Bush has a very classy wife, and had a thief for his running mate when he was in office.

Obamas got a few good traits to his character, and bad traits as well. Bush has the same. They're both human.
When you take the reins of a office thats one of the most powerful in the world, its hard to not be indifferent.

It gets old hearing the stories, obama has done this or bush has done that.
You hear the stories of obama is a closet muslim. ...well he's put more bombs in Pakistan tribal area than bush ever did.
He got us out of a country we had no reason to go into and remove their dictator
You hear bush is an oil man, he's the reason prices were so high in his terms in office for oil.....well it's still up there in price at the pump and he's not in office.
Bush made us for the first time in history, a country thats invaded another country. We didn't need to go into Iraq.

And the list can go on and on with every president we've had since George Washington.

Things need to change, this country needs to start working together for the better good. These websites like snopes puts out bogus news and hate mail and scare tactics. It's causing a rift in the people thats starting to get scary dangerous.
This gov't we have, is imploding from the rift in the parties.
This congress and those in the last 20 yrs have ran a debt up to the point it's teetering on collapse.
They're creating a body of people who have a hatred towards the gov't, and all it does is cause more laws and regulations to come down the pipe line.

It's time the people and the gov't come together regardless of political affiliation to come together and put their differences to the side and start working together.
You can debate and hold your values, but there has to be a point to where both sides work together for the greater good before it's too late.

Honestly, POTUS doesn't need any help in that department.
And as to your last two sentences, remember it takes BOTH sides to have a compromise. Republicans understand that concept, Democrats never will.

LOL We have pretty much compromised the country as we knew it away now, the time for compromise has long been passed.
