Its a four banger, it started flashing the center two cavitys. I have cleaned it, wire burshed it, cleaned out the guide pin holes, and it still is flashing. This mold has always casted heavy at 240+ gr with WW. I'm thinking it warped for some reason. Anything to check?

Put a piece of fine grit sandpaper on a piece of plate glass, and lay the mould halves on it and give it a light sanding. I like to go in circles. The flat glass will show any warpage. You can use a punch and hammer to lightly tap the alignment pins back far enough to do that side of the mould. You will have to re-set them of course. I just did this to my brothers 452374, and found a buildup of mould lube, and a big burr around the pin side mould half. It cast much better after.

You might also turn your pot down 100 degrees and see what you get. The hotter the lead the more it wants to run. The two inner cavities run the hottest.

I tried lowering the heat, and even with the mold not up to temp, it was sitll flashing, even with very wrinkled bullets.
So I took apart, pushed back the pins, and ran it across the extra fine emery paper on a plate. A ding appeared on the mold that you could not see before doing it, I can't for the life of me remember dropping it or anything else. I polished it out and all is well. Thanks for the suggestions. Ken
