The Unique Fairy visited my house yesterday and left her children behind. I promise to give the 10 of them a good home.

Don't you want to "spread the wealth" a little?

No wonder I can't find any, it's all on Planet Reality.

Good stuff, that. Excellent for pistol, rifle and shotgun.

Couldn't find an 8 lb. jug? I hope you didn't buy 10 of them at 1 lb. prices! That would be about 30-40 bucks too much.

If you did pay one pound prices for each of them, next time buy two pounds to tide you over and then an 8 lb'er when they finally become available. 8 lb. jugs are your friend when buying in quantity.

I know it can be tempting to buy when available, but that's what I do with powders like Unique, Promo, and 2400 that I use in large quantity for pistol, rifle, and shotgun.

Congrats on the score anyway. Stock up before we elect another Democrat, heaven forbid.

I had to buy 1lbrs from Powder Valley as the 8 lb I ordered was out of stock before they updated the sight. The girl that called about an hour after I ordered the 8lb was very nice and so to make it work I ordered 10 1lb bottles. Still came out at a little less than $20/lb even with hazmat and shipping. That gives me 18lbs of it on the shelf which is enough to last me a good long while. I also figured that I could trade a few 1lb bottles at a gunshow or somewhere for some 2400 or whatever or pass some on to someone that can't find any.

Exactly! Thats why I'm buying it. I'm keeping several pounds of general use powder on hand that will run about everything in a pinch having learned my lesson

Default propellant for 45 Long Colt. Also great for 44-40 and 45 ACP.

Same fairy stopped off at my house well before the buying frenzy started. I guess she just not got stocked back up to be able to hand out some more :)

I am going to commit blasphemy here- I am not a huge Unique fan. I have used it, it works well. I just don't generally buy it or use it.

Now 2400, that stuff I love. Bought a couple 8 pounders this year.

That is good "outside the box" thinking. To some extent, all firearms hobbyists have been forced into similar siege mentalities or other refugee-esque acquisition patterns to keep their hobbies breathing. I for one am very damn tired of all the shortages and the predatory pricing that attends such occurrences.
