I'm not sure but I may need help. I was organizing some of my casting stuff and counted a total of forty bullet molds.I also have one in the mail.I think I have a mold collecting problem. That or I just need more time to cast.I could get a second job to support my habit or start selling cast bullets to help buy more molds. Is there a twelve step program for this.

If you have guns for all the molds you're fine. If you have molds for calibers you've never owned there's one seat left on the short bus right behind me:-D:-D:-D

You need something to keep track of all those molds.

A "RollCall" of forty might find you below average in this group. We'll see if you can do better next year. Gianni

The 12 step program for too many bullet moulds is:
1. Send them to me
2. Send them to me
3. Send them to me
4. Send them to me
5. Send them to me
6. Send them to me
7. Send them to me
8. Send them to me
9. Send them to me
10. Send them to me
11. Send them to me
12. By now you release there is no such thing as too many bullet moulds, disregard all of the above.

My goal is to leave a good estate sale :-D
Fortunately I have a daughter who will put all my gun stuff to good use, so I have the excuse that "I'm stocking up for her."
Reminds me of a customer a while back. One of my side businesses is selling rare books. I sold a couple of Joyce first editions to a collector up in Portland and stopped by his house to deliver them. He had a house full of Joyce and TE Lawrence firsts, many of which were worth $2,000-$5,000 per book. He was on older single fellow, he told me when he died he wanted his estate to have a garage sale and price each book at a quarter, he smiled and said "people will be talking about that garage sale for TWENTY YEARS!"

Have him put a limit of 10 books on it so the first guy doesn't get them all. Gianni

That's Joyce Hornady, right?
I think you have it all wrong. Owning forty molds, (matching firearms or not), is not a "problem". Owning 40 molds is a sign of success! The need to count them might be an indication of a minor problem. But don't worry, forgetting exactly how many molds you have is just a normal part of getting older. It happens to all of us.

I really don't have a clue how many I have. Last year I was rummaging around and found a nice Group Buy custom 6 hole Fat Thirty mould for a flat nosed 200 grain gas check bullet that I didn't even remember I had and couldn't remember buying. It makes nice boolits! I've got a bunch sized to .314", checked and lubed that I need to get around to loading and shooting!
But I have been laying out of Group Buys lately. I've let several go that looked really interesting.

After reading these posts I am feeling much better about myself and my passion for casting ,shooting, reloading and collecting molds.Notice I said passion not obsession. After all the first step to recovery is admitting you didn't have a problem in the first place. Thanks,Jeff Taylor.

Only problem I can see is perhaps the need to count in the first place. As preparation for moving, I've just packed up all my moulds. Can't tell you how many I have but it took 3 50 Cal ammo boxes to hold the iron moulds. The aluminum moulds are in a boot box and a drawer. Yep, I do have moulds for guns I've yet to purchase. I see mould I want, I buy it. No Problem! Regards, Woody

only 40 moulds? .........ROOKIE! :-D
I had 40 moulds once. I also had only 3 electric lead pots, and 4 ingot moulds, but that was a long time ago! If my Wife only know how much $$$ I have tied up in my casting equipment, she might leave me.
Who can I get to leave Her a few hints? [smilie=1:
She did finally figure out the gun values when She got my Modern gun values book and paid a vist to the gun safes. (She said she did it for insurance reasons, but I think it was somehow to justify all the shoes She buys)
Seriously She loves Shooting maybe as much as I do, and She keeps threatening to help me using the master caster and the star sizers, but it really hasn't happened yet. I'd settle for Her cleaning Her own guns! :drinks:
