Looks good to me but I'm only set up for single lubes grooves. How much would it weigh?

Blammer,
Once again you have come up with a great design. I scaled out your drawing to a 0.432" as-cast diameter and ran the resulting values through the Cast Bullet Design and Evaluation software and the evaluation for center of gravity in relation to center of pressure are impressive. About the only difference from your drawing is the depth of the crimping grooves. (The software likes to draw them with a 20 to 25 degree slant and I didn't make the change.).

And this is a dimension drawing of my vintage Colt 44 Special chamber and the fit of a cartridge loaded with this bullet design.

This appears to be an excellent design for a Pistol bullet but may be a little too long in the nose for a rifle chambering as this composite with a SAMMI spec chamber shows. However, rather than change the design and balance of the bullet, I think that I would either just use some shorter brass or simply factory crimp the bullet a little further into the case:

I like it to say the least! Darrel, you have a good feel for this stuff. Now, see if you can come up with the likes for a 413 boolit, but with a 235 grain limit in WW + 2 percent or less. I have no idea what the specific gravity will be for that kind of lead. 2 percent lighter seems to reason, but actually there is no proof of what basis the WW is around here anyway. Tom, my Marlin will take a 413 nose at 0.200, and a 410 nose at 0.245. At least, that is what I think the nose diameter (410) was when I measured the 0.245. Length of nose should not be more than 0.375 at 0.250 meplat to allow full cycling. ... felix

Methodology: Have someone make some full wadcutters out of copper at different diameters. Play around with letting the gun seat them from the MAGAZINE. Use the tackiest lube inside of fired cases. Would require filling up the cases with the lube. If lube is not tacky enough, the slug will tend to sqirm back out when backed off of the lands.

My apologies Felix, I hit the wrong button to quote you and had to fix this. Bret

I really like the looks of this boolit. Might even consider a mould someday. However, would love this design but at about 260-265 grain weight with 50-50 WW+lead and another around the 240-245 grain level.
I love my .44's, but have a wrist that cannot continue to take it's recoil with the heavier boolits. My 250-K casts around 265 with my soft alloy, and is about all the weight I can live with. Even then, velocities are below regular .44 mag levels.

Knurl the bottom 1/3 of the WC, add a bit of Loc-Tite, should help with the problem.
