What ratio WW to Lino for up to 1400fps?
I ran WW with very little leading - would a 4 to 1 work out without
being to brittle?
Most of my stuff I shoot I keep around 1050 but for hunting I want to step it up.
For years I just cast without paying attention to exact ratio but now am thinkin
on being a little more precise.
Kinda new to the technical side and need to catch up.

75% WW and 25 % linotype has worked well for me at velocities of 1400 fps. if everything else is right. Even straight linotype will lead the barrel if sizing or lube is wrong.

I use 8 (ww) to 1 (lino) in all my loads. No leading.

I'm shooting a 20 to 1 (ww to lino) alloy currently and it works great. I'm reeeeal skimpy when it comes to using up my type metal. This is from .357 mag and .44 mag stuff. I figure my hot .357 loads are running at about 1400 fps.

I really like 5050 ww/lyno not because it is good at high velocity but more because it seems to be about an ideal alloy for penetration. It retains a little more weight then staight lineotype. Should be less brittle (but ive never seen lineotype fracture on game at handgun velocitys) and just plain casts nice consistant bullets. I used to use it about exclusively but the days of endless lineotype are gone and i conserve it more now and use it mostly for the linebaughs that will be called on to take really big game and some rifle loads. but to be honest if your mold will cast plain old wws well, air cooled wws in a properly made gun with proper dimetions is all you need up to 1500 fps in a handgun.
