Well I have been here since May so I guess its time to say HI. You have a great forum with lots of info. I have been accumulating things since may and today I smelted my first 5 gal. bucket of range lead from an indoor range. I only had one Lee mold so it took a couple of hours to pour about 75lbs of ingots. I still have about40 lbs of WW to run, but that will have to wait until later. I will be casting for my AR's. I have a 458 Socom and a 338 Spectre and a Glock 27 .40 that I have molds for. Right now I am going to start with the 338S. I got the Accurate 34-310B mold for it. I am also going to try the Hi-Tek coating on all my AR CB's. I have a Lee 4 20 110v bottom pour pot ready to go. The one thing I need to buy is a bigger fan. Thanks for all the info and I am sure I will be making some mistakes and I will have lots of questions.

"The one thing I need to buy is a bigger fan"

I guess the bigger the fan the better. Looks like you have it drawing the air/smoke away but not enough fan. As they say, bring enough fan. BTW, if you put a sheet metal shroud around your pot/burner you will get more efficiency. Good looking ingots.

The Boar Buster has finally surfaced looks like and you have done it in style. What a great first post! I don't have a 338 but I will say that you picked one fine mold maker for your mold. Congratulations on some nice ingots too. A smelter needs more than one or two ingot molds as you found out. There are several maker that list their stuff in the swappin and sellin section. You might want to check them out. You may have already gotten into reading the "stickies" located at the top of each section that deal with common problems that seem to always come up for all of us. I suggest you read on those and also if you haven't yet purchased handbooks, I have found the Lyman smokeless and black powder manuals to be very helpful. I can speak from experience that even after reading all those things that you are bound to have questions. Ask away because this is the most helpful bunch you have ever met. So welcome to the addiction and see you around the forum I am sure.

Thanks guys
Someone gave me a copy of the Lyman 3rd edition Cast Bullet Handbook and I ordered a copy of the RCB Cast Bullet Manual. I have been reading the stickies and watching Youtube video's. I have been reloading for 30 years, but I have never cast or loaded a cast bullet so this will be something new to me. There is a lot of info here and a lot to learn. I am bad about jumping off into something with just a little bit of knowledge, so I mess up quite a bit.
