Hey Cast Boolits, thought I'd post a thread asking a question about these bullets that I've ordered from Gardners. I'm looking to shoot some of my milsurps for cheaper than what I would be paying if I used FMJBT or other jacketed bullets. Generally speaking, what kind of FPS should I look to keep a gas checked, hard cast boolit? I plan on loading these with Varget.

Bullets in question:
.303: http://gardnerscache.com/303brit_190_lrn_g_c.html
8mm: http://gardnerscache.com/8mm_170_lfp_g_c.html

Did you slug your .303? They tend to have a rather generous idea of bore sizes.

Yeah, I will definitely need to get some lead to slug the bore. The Enfield is in very good condition with a pristine bore, so I would hope it has a nominally milspec bore of .312".
