Last 2 times the new tech used the US. Now I have several coated caps that are down to base metal, have to go get another fixed next week. I don't recommend this procedure - she is going to earn her $$ the old way. hard work but I'm the one paying.

If by coated caps you mean porcelain crowns I don't understand how an ultrasonic cleaner could harm a well built crown. I have 5 porcelain fused to metal crowns and I prefer the ultrasonic cleaning as it does a more thorough job. The water coming out of the tip flushes the bacteria out of the pocket. The hygienist shouldn't even be touching the crowns. Just cleaning under the gums. Something is definitely wrong somewhere. I am sorry for your loss. GGG DDS

porcelain is hard but brittle. I think most of the last 20 yrs they are made of plastic. These machines are not just the old water pics, more like a water jet cutter.
