I am looking for a good 30-30 no gas check bullet something in 150-190 grain.

Ideally I would like a 4 cavity brass mold.

I was thinking of ordering on from Accurate as the lead times aren't that long, I just don't know what one I should get. My 336 likes .309.

If I was in the market for a 2 cavity steal mold I think that i would get this one:

Can somone help point me in the correct dirrection:

Tom at Accurate molds did the 31-170S for me, which is a gas checked bullet and with my limited testing so far shows much promise. At about the same time another member here (I apologize, but can't remember who) had him do the 31-165S which is a plain based bullet and is very close dimensionally to my 32-170S. It is somewhat shorter in the body which should keep the base of the bullet in the neck of the 30-30 case. It also fits the Marlin throats quite well, at least the 6 or so I've tried it in. Tom can cut as many cavities as you would like and also out of the material you choose. If I were to order a plain based mold for my Marlin 336's I think this would be the one.
Good Luck with your choice,
Rick

I like the RCBS 30-180-FN myself. I feed 3 .30WCF's with it, and every other .30 I have except the M-1 carbine. Nominal weight is more in the 190gr. range. For hunting with a .30 cast boolit, this is the one I would recommend. It also happens to be the most accurate boolit in some of my .30 rifles.

Rick,
Thanks for the help, I ordered the 31-165s. I look forward to it. I have a accurate mold for 45-70 in brass that's just a work of art.

Thanks -Kayak1

You're welcome!
Keep us posted when it arrives as I would be curious as to how it fits the throat of your rifle and how it performs for you.
Take care,
Rick

I would seriously look at this one from NOE

I have the GC version and my 308 really likes it!

The NOE version is .591 from the crimp to the tip. The max spec for 30-30 is .511 thus I will have feed issues in my 30-30.
