Maintains Correct Temperature for Bullet Casting It's 'early Lee' and little ... with about 4 lbs capacity of pure lead, heats to 780 degrees and the temperature doesn't move up or down. Takes awhile to heat up, but kind of neat for casting a small number of bullets!

275watts; that's not too big - you know you could mount a PID on that and be fully temperature controlled, right?

My dad and I cast all of our boolits and balls with one of those when I was a kid. A lee ten lb pot sure seemed like an upgrade! I recently came into posession of it again and you got me thinking about casting with it again.

780 is pretty hot but will melt lead. Might lose some tin from oxidation.

I'd bet that whatever regulates the temp could be tweaked but you'd have to disassemble and outsmart it.

My first years of casting was with one of these and a single 158 gr Lee mold. It brings back fond memories!!!
