... as in the below snip from a post (surely not peanut butter)

they shoot very accurately if cast soft and PB'd or GC'd at 1050 - 1200 fps, most often right around 1150 fps

In this case, plain base boolits... versus gas checked boolits

a lot of calibers dont need to go over 1700fps, so a plain based mold works just fine.
Gas Checks are for when you want them to haul donkey.
Ya want to hear a kicker, I use gas check molds, and only go 1500fps.
Its a waste of metal, but its how my mold was designed. I didnt want to make the boolit any heavier,
thats why I didnt plain base the mold

OK, this looks like a good place to broach the fact that at the bottom of the screen is an "Abbreviations Used in Reloading" chart made up almost entirely with Jacketed terms.

Seems like "Cast Boolit Abbreviations" would be more for better.

And considering "PB" is not in the chart I totally agree.

Naw, it's paper based boolit. Paper patchers almost always include a paper base to protect the base of the boolit.
Sometimes it means pot bellied, i.e. pot bellied cast boolit shootist

I'd rather be known as a lead hurler, than a peanut butter hurler.

(Although hurling peanut butter could become a you tube sensation; Hmmmmmm)
