OK guys, I understand needing a reloading manual. I've got two at the moment. I have the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 3rd Edition and the Lee Modern Reloading 2nd Edition. I am new, thanks for the help. My question is, for cast boolits, what manuals would you recommend above and beyond what I have listed here.

Hi Gibbs44!

In addition to the two you've listed, I'd say Cast Bullets by E.H. Harrison
should be on the list of "Must haves".

Anybody else want to add to this?

You can't go wrong with the Lee reloading manual, second edition. Try to get or read All Lyman cast boolit manuals. I have the RCBS cast book and it is a good read. The Handloader Digests are good also, especially the older issues. And....of course.... ALL the stickies at Cast Boolits!

I really like that book, and it can be found as a .pdf file on the Castpics link down below.

Once you have Modern Reloading by Richard Lee, Lyman's 49th, Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook 4th Edition, and the free book from LASC linked below, the rest is gravy.

Thanks all, like I said not just for me, but for any of the new folks. Just looking for reference material that has served some folks here well. It does look like Cast Pics and the LASC website, while not books, probably should be a first stop.

1. Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook, 3rd edition
2. Lyman's Reloading Handbook, 49th edition
3. Lyman's Reloading Handbook, 45th edition (many moulds and loads that won't be found in newer manuals)
4. Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook, 4th edition

While it's not a manual for load data. Glen Fryxell's book "From Ingot to Target" is indispensable: http://www.lasc.us/Fryxell_Book_Contents.htm

Anyone that casts needs to read it. I find myself going back and reading chapters quite often.

If you can find a copy, the old NRA Cast Bullet Manual (and supplements) are full of good basic info along with reprints from Rifleman back when they printed useful 'how-to' articles instead of today's 'liability neutral' pap.
