I shoot this one in my 1928 99G 300 Sav: 34.0 grs IMR3031 with a RCBS 30-150-FN @ .310" for 2350fps. In my rifle it is as accurate as any jacketed load.

Any chance I could buy a few RCBS 30-150-FN from you?

If we are talking "J" word bullets, I have found that both my .300 Sav. rifles (an 99 take down and a Rem. 722 bolt gun) prefer 150 gr. weight loads for better accuracy.Robert

I've been having some good success with the Ideal 31141 and 28 grains of IMR4895 in my '99 and to a lesser extent in a 1920. I plan on deer hunting with the '99 this Fall.

300 Sav: 30-31 37.3 gr. under a 170 gr FP Win Sliver Tip works for me. My go to rifle when I feel the need too walk & stalk. (99-E carbine)

I think I have a few 170 gr Sierra Fps. May try your load in one of my 99s.

170 gr. Silver Tip. A F.P. 30-30 bullet and they expand pretty easily at 300 Sav speeds. A friend on mine does the same with imr 4895 at 37.0 even. {a milder recipe} but his load is very accurate with 150-gr. Rem bronze point.
Just so you know BeMan. My 30-31 load is a bit snappy. So please start a full grain lower than 37.3 and work up 0.2-0.3 th. at a time until your rifle takes kindly to what its being fed.
