I,m working up loads for my ruger redhawk using 320 gr.hard cast ssk lead bullets with no GC, H110 powder, mag primers rem brass.loads are from 20 gr. to 22.5, the bullets are seat to bottem ring so the will only fit in the extended cylinders of the redhawk, what is anybodies take. excuse typng injured hand Thankyou........mister c.

The top load is a bit on the hot side, but will probably not strain the Super Redhawk (or Redhawk). I wouldn't shoot it in any other six-shot revolver though. At this level of performance I suspect you would get better accuracy with gas checks.

Take care, Tom

Is the boolit made for a GC? Or is it a PB? If it is made for a check, use it.
21.5 gr of H110 and a standard primer will give the best accuracy. To prove, test both primers and I bet you toss the mag primer.

I have that mold.
That boolit cast from my generic #2 alloy shoots great with 22 gr of H110/296 in my Redhawk.
It is a bit on the warm side but not unpleasant to shoot.
As always, start lower and work up.
That boolit also works great in a 444.....dale

Dale,
What powder are you using with that boolit in your 444?--Shuz

the bullet is not made for GC

Shuz, I have the 260gr and the 320 gr version of this boolit. Both are PB design.
I use 4198 with this boolit in a 14" Tender 444 barrel.
This load has substantial recoil. Not for the recoil sensitive....dale

Quite amazing how much recoil 4198 has! Shot some from the 45-70's and one original rifle beat my cheek. I went to 3031 and the difference was pleasant even with a 500 gr boolit.
Good to hear the boolits are PB, I hate to buy GC's.

Thanks for the info, but I'll pass on 4198 in the .444 Marlin. Like 44man said, I, too, thought I experienced more recoil with H-4198 than I did with either H-322 and/or Rel 7. My boolits then were the Ranch Dog 265, and Lyman's 429244.

I shoot the 429650 (~320 grains) with 19.5 grains of H-110. I am getting 1294 fps from a 9.5" Super Redhawk...

I think I stopped at 20.0 grains as that was what I thought to be about it as far as I was concerned...

With the Burris set on 8x, I can hit a groundhog sized silhouette at 150 yards with extreme consistency...

I can hit it at 200 yards probably 85% of the time...

All shooting is done from a good sandbag rest...

Recoil is very noticeable!!!...

Good-luck...BCB
