Hello...
My name is Eric. I am 32, married with two kids. I served in the Army for 7 years as an 11bravo M60 machinegunner, w/ one all expense paid trip to the Middle East. I grew up in Salmon Idaho, and currently live in Kuna Idaho. I currently do IT for a living. I like motorcycles and guns...the end

OOPS i forgot to mention the important stuff. I currently have:

2 M38 Turk Mausers
2 M48 Yugo Mausers
1 Howa 1500 30-'06
1 1903 Springfield, mfd 1912
various other non interesting guns

i prefer to feed these cast bullets, but sometimes I have to resort to the other kind. unfortunately, I do not currently have a setup for casting my own bullets.

I like to go shooting off Kuna Mora Road, out past Black's Creek range.

I have been lurking for a week or two now and this forum seems like a great one with many knowledgeable shooters. I hope to learn alot here...

Welcome aboard Eric. I am sure your wife will hate us when it is all over. We have this ability to "encourage" the purchase of items "needed" to cast bullets.

R.

BTW, The non-interesting ones are the most fun and are still guns so they are interesting.

Welcome Eric:
It is not that hard to get into casting. Lee makes some inexpensive molds in 8mm and 30 cal. Get your self a cast iron pot and a hotplate and go at it.
Also get a pound of Unique powder use 8 to 10 gr under the cast bullets
makes for some fun plinking.
Start collecting wheel weights, you will be addicted soon[smilie=1:

Welcome, eric. If you grew up in Salmon you may have known Elmer Keith, though you would have been age nine when he passed on. A poster on this board recently mentioned visiting Elmer Keith's grave site on an upcomng Idaho trip. If you know where he is buried, could you post it? You will come to know that milsurps are very popular on this board, so you are in good company. Thank you for your service.

..............Welcome Eric. My brother's name is also Eric, but I'm sure you're an okay guy :-)

2 M38 Turk Mausers

Heck, those are pretty interesting to me. M38 Turks for $69 were the best bang for the buck since $69 SKS's. I f they have half decent barrels the sunuvaguns can shoot. Oops, I have to add to that also if the stock isn't twisted :-). Can't go far wrong with that Springfield either. If it's original military and depending upon how old your kids are, you might be able to sell it when the time comes, and put onena the kids through medical school. :-)

Eric,

I see you left some blank spots on your application. We need you SSN, DOB and 2 major credit cards (just for identification).

Also, the new guy buys ammo.
