Top punch for MP clone of the H&G #68, 200 gr SWC .452?

What top punch do I use for an MP clone of the H&G #68, 200 gr SWC .452. I have a #460, but one of my #429's seems to fit better. Please help.

Where can I find a chart for H&G top punches?

Look in the bag of tools that came with the mold. A top punch was supplied with the mold. Otherwise... PM MiHec for one.

Sorry. I didn't explain. I don't have a mold. Bought these boolits here at the forum a while back.

I am betting the #460 is larger than the boolit nose. I'd use that. I like to let the die do the centering and the flat of the top punch true the boolit to vertical by registering on the meplat. You'll likely get a prettier boolit (no ring marks from the edge of the top punch against the side surface of the boolit nose).

HP boolits is where I use a top punch that rests on the side surface of the boolit nose.

I use a SAECO lubrisizer and the top punches for that are threaded. But I often use a Lyman or RCBS style top punch. Those kinda float in the threaded hole and also self-center.

Even the occasional round nose, as long as it doesn't take a lot of pressure to enter the sizing die. A one inch long section of ¼" bolt has pushed many thousand boolits into the H&I die for me.

Thanks for the 1/4 inch bolt for a top punch tip....most of my boolits tend to have a meplate and this will work just fine.
