I was lucky enough to get on of the few of the above mold. Last week, early in the morning I gave it a try.
First, I don't think putting the mold on top of the furnace warmed it up enough. My lead was WW some range scrap and some tin. The weight of boolits came out 222-224hrs.
The problem came when I tried sizing them in a Lyman .452 H&I die. The front band would disappear and part of the shank of the nose would also size. I tried adjusting the depth but it did not help. Some of bullets measure .452-.454 but the size is taking them down to .451.
I attributed this to the first run and inexperience with a 6 cavity mold and aluminum to boot.
I am ready to melt these down and give it another try.
Never had this problem with my vintage Lyman four cavity mold.
Suggestions would be helpful. I have the HP version in the mail from the GB so I need to solve this soon.
Too hot to cast here in Great Mitten, 90+ today.
Thanks in advance.

Could you post a photo of this mold?
I would like to see an aluminum Mihec 6-cavity Cramer.

I believe he may have one or two left, and the price is very right, just received my 6C today.

edit: I just caught what you were saying. He cut some 6C alum. test blocks, not per se 6C Cramers.

How long are you waiting before you size them? In the past I have had boolits compress if I size them too early (sometimes you just cant wait), although they were not fat 45acp boolits.

About a week. I think I am going to melt them down until I get a good chance (Cool Weather) to make some more when I get time to do it right.
