would some kind person tell me what calibre or diameter this is please? if it s 7mm i would look to use in 7mm/08 or 7x57. my rcbs data does not list this mold.

The RCBS 28-168FN is a 7mm/.284 caliber design. Mine casts around .285+ with WW. Nice design IMO. It's on RCBS special order list. There's is one on Eaby now, which is why you're asking I expect.

Have you done any shooting with this bullet, particularly in the 7-30 Waters rifle?

'Fraid not. I've put maybe 75 through a 7x57 '93 Mauser with a so-so barrel. They are fairly long and might be a bit much for the 7x30. I can't picture the cartridge in my head but I think it might work depending on throat length and fit. They weigh in over 170 gr in ww alloy, around 174 IIRC.

thanks bret,now i know. and ,yes you are correct on my reason for enquiring. what would special order price be? then i can go to e-bay. talk about necessary e-vils!

Try www.midwayusa.com and check the price. I think the special order moulds go for around $100-120.00.
