Just a note to say how pleased I am with this supplier. Hit the link from this site as I was looking for powder I had been unable to find locally for months and not only did they have it, but at a much lower price than local outlets. Even with the haz-mat fee I saved some 33% over local prices.

Couldn't be happier!

You obviously are aware of something that I'm not.

Just to bring you up to date:

When the shortage happened, CTD (or Lower Than Dirt as its now commonly called) was one of the few vendors to raise prices to gouging levels to make a quick profit off the situation. That policy had the side effect of pissing off thousands of customers, who will never deal with them again...

That would be the fact that CTD decided to play very fast & loose with their policies regarding onlines sales of firearms following the Sandy Hook shooting. Although officially they were just "reviewing policies", given the timing of their announcement, it certainly appeared that they were one of a handful of companies that caved in to the anti-gun crowd & completely discontinued firearm sales for a period of time.
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2012/12/18/online-gun-retailer-cheaper-than-dirt-suspends-firearm-sales/
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/12/foghorn/breaking-cheaperthandirt-suspends-all-firearm-sales/

I also refuse to do business with them any longer. Never bought much from them in the first place due to their already ridiculous multiple warehouse handling fees & shipping charges, but for me that was the last straw. Not to mention the fact that (whether you agree that they are 'gouging' their customers or simply being good little capitalists) they DID raise their prices significantly during that period of time, and they weren't really that much lower to begin with, especially if you factor in multiple warehouse handling fees.

When the mass school shooting happened, CTD said they would no longer sell guns. Pretty much a big F. U. to legal gun owners. They also after catching flak started to sell guns again. Not to mention they price gouged for months. Places like midway, brownells, powder valley and grafs did nothing of the sort. I'll never buy from CTD again. People remember these tactics and the lack of financial support from their customer demographic will show that.

CTD all back orders cancelled, and a notice that items would sell at the NEW price when they came in kinda put a sour taste in my mouth. B the same token they did about the same as AIM, CDNN and a host of others. When the feces hits the mixmaster you find out real quick who your friends are.

Graf's is awesome, as has been said before by many, CTD deserves nothing more than the fleas of a thousand camels for eternity!

Anybody doing what they did to make a buck off fellow shooters is scum to me.
Hoping I'm not adding to a troll thread but some current links:

Got a case of 00 buck from CTD pre panic, after they sent me an email saying because you bought before we will give you a "special" price. Special all right, twice what I paid before. Told them to stick their ammo somewhere.

Let me just pile on a little bit here. CTD currently is trying to sell CCI .22RF Magnums for $49.95 for a box of 50!

These are normally $11.95 at Walmart and still are when they have them..

CTD sucks, and I hope TV shows start giving them the boot as sponsors due to their unfair business practices.

They raped the market when prices started going up, if you stupid enough to buy from them. Several years ago I bought pre-loads from them for my 45LC made by BVAC in bulk. Very good prices and service. I ordered those Aguila primer-only 22's they sold for $25 a brick................ and the next week they went to $75! Talk about gouging.

Never again will they see my business.

One dealer in my town has 500 rd brick for 110.00 tax incl. That's right 10% sales tax. The other bigger dealer has them for 10.00 less, but you have to buy a gun to get them at that price. Don't know what Walmart has cause I try not to go in there.

I just got a CTD catalog in the mail. The ammo prices are the highest I have seen from any vendor, on line or in a store. 9mm, 147 gr. JHP, "American Bullet" (?) $69.69 per 50. That's $1.39 per round for an unknown manufacturer 9mm. Federal 5.56x45 nato brass, "pre-loaded" 30 rounds $34.59. CCI Mini Mag 36 gr. HP, $59.59 per 100.

I don't know about most other items in the catalog, but with ammo priced like these, I certainly won't deal with CTD...

I've never had to stoop to buying from them before, and certainly wouldn't now.

They ought to change their name to Dumber than Dirt.

But, I can say one good thing about them. My prices can get on the high side for the items that require significantly more work, and materials cost much more. They make my prices on that stuff look good. When I speak of higher cost calibers, I refer to 303 Savage, 50-70, 43 Egyptian, 11mm Mauser and such. Brass for these is some awful expensive and hard to get. Making them from other calibers is a LOT of work, and may include lathe time. And their high prices are for items easily procured elsewhere.

Now, you can buy Eley match ammo at Midway, or CCI Mini Mags from the bozos for a little more.

Yeah, I know, that one isn't even remotely fair, but, it's cheaper to buy Eley from Midway than CCI from the crooks.

Just before the last gungrab scare, they were selling firearms on line, shipped to your local FFL holder. My brother bought one from them-a new Ruger Blackhawk. I guess he got lucky. It is a nice revolver but I guess that is because Ruger makes a good Blackhawk these days, and not because of CTD. Not long after, a visit to their website revealed that they had suddenly dropped out of the firearms business altogether, as their extensive list of rifles, pistols, revolvers etc showed zero in stock for everything. I myself have never bought anything from them and won't. I'm not even on their mailing list for junkmail, but lots of others are.

When CTD first started, mid 80's??, their first catalog came in the mail one day and prices looked ok until you went to the shipping costs. The cost was based on the price of the item you bought instead of shipping weight. Had no interest in getting scammed by them after reading that and never will.

CTD had an ad in American Rifleman a while back with 5.56 at a very good price. I went straight to the computer to their website and tried to place an order for the ammo and it was charging me DOUBLE the advertised price. I sent an email to their customer service and they said they weren't honoring that price. That was the last time I ever considered dealing with them. This was way before Sandy Hook.

Go to the "CTD sponsoring Cast Boolits" thread and pile on!

We need to make a point with this outfit. Emailing your disgust directly to CTD will help too.

Also Emailing the NRA to have them drop CTD as a sponsor of "American Rifleman TV" would make a huge point as well.
