A friend at another site just uncovered a UNERTL scope with a #29254 and wondered if anyone could provide any history on it and it looks brand new.

So here I am hoping for answers.

There's people on the ASSRA site that know that stuff. If it's really like-new it's worth some serious money.

There is a Unertl user group with a bunch of documents and instructions: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Unertl/

Any idea of where to visit to use the serial # to determine the age.

So far nothing goes back that far.

The closest I can tell on the user group serial # list is early '50s. Nearest one with a date is 30xxx in 1953.

Thanks for the help. I sent Brad to the site and he had the same results. Records do not go back that far.

Brad picked up a Winchester 22 Target Model 52B that resided in a burned out home. He is a true artist with firearms and is restoring it for his Grand daughter. No there was only enough heat to start some plastic stuff to lose its shape but not burn.

After some of the comments here Brad might decide to put another scope on the rifle. If the photos Brad sent me are true he must be the first person to open the original box.

One of these days he will join us and share this build as he has done several times on another site.
