View Full Version : Great friends I'll never meet

In the 12 years I've been associated with this bunch of rogues and miscreants, it's been my priveledge to make some of the best friends a man could possibly want.

Recently, I posted that I had purchased my first 1911. I started getting PMs from members with offers to send me some stuff to help get me started.

I've received a set of Pearce hard rubber grips, two molds, a Don Hume black basket weave double mag pouch, assorted boolits and brass.

I went to the post office this morning and found yet another box waiting for me.

There's no way I'll ever need brass again and all the boolits I received will last me who knows how long.

It just seems so ironic to me that I've made some truly great friends on this forum and I'll never get to meet 'em.

Thanks, fellas. I cannot express how much I appreciate all that y'all have sent me.

That's pretty awesome. I haven't been here very long but I'm learning how great this community is.

Considering this is my first 1911 and I'm a novice 'greenhorn', if the target below is any indication of how this gun shoots, I'll be doin' the happy dance for quite a while to come.

Get more brass...I promise you'll need it. Those pesky little things seem to fly who knows where at times.

But what really got me was when we robbed the mexican joint....we were out of beer money!! Those dang mexicans gave us pesos instead of greenbacks!
So being the two jovial fellas we are, we took those pesos and went to the other Mexican restaurant on the other end of the county and had us a good ole time!! Tacos and Beer!

Aint that the truth....esp since the Mexicans in that restaurant were laughing so hard, they gave us those Mexican pesos, and opened up the door for us as we went out it...it took me awhile to figure out, but they were laughing at Jims pants.
They could've cared less on being robbed, they were paying for the good laugh they were getting!!

I guess my memory is failin', Moonie. I've taken some time off in the past, but don't remember ever threatening to leave. I have a great distaste for that "This is my last post" kinda' stuff and don't remember ever doin' that.

Jim you and your family (cats and dogs included) bring lots of stability, wit and wisdom to this fine forum. Makes me all the more proud to be a small part of it.

+1 on that! 45acp brass never wears out, it just retires to points unknown. Never pass up a chance to corral a few strays, you'll need them.

..... Never pass up a chance to corral a few strays, .....

One tried to become a stray on me yesterday, but I spotted 'im before he got in the grass. Between the classic Clint line and the Si Robertson Icey Stare, he gave up.

Some of them are magic! You can look over them many times. A day or ten later there it lays right out in the open! I reload the steel cases for woods shooting.
