Made a mistake yesterday, going to the LGS. They had an XDs in 9. I've shot the 45 and didn't like the flip. Now I gotta find a mould ~ 124 gr TC and a sizer. Any ideas? Darn. And it doesn't come with a loader. Darn. SIL has been drooling over this for a year. He was ticked (more than ticked!) when I told him I'd let him try it next weekend.

OK, tried it today. I like. Fiber front sight is nice, at least in the sun. 40 rnds of WWB HP did fine, my Rem RN got stuck. I think the newer Win brass is really thin. Expander didn't take much force. Yes I did do the plunk test on a few rnds, OK. I'll try more crimp or resizing to see what works, else break then down and start over. Got to mic the HP and pick a mould.
Wasn't the brass, had to resize 2/3 of them. Mixed headstamps. Die was set up for an XD that I haven't loaded for a couple years. Set it a little lower and G2G. Don't know what happened, but got it fixed. Expanding sizer die? Play the tune from the Twilight Zone?

Lee 356-120 TC convention lube is my choice for my Witness, XDM 5.25 and XD9C. Also great in BIL's High Power. Easy to cast, feeds and shoot well. Gone through about 15,000 so far in my 9's. I use CR lube and no leading.

My favorite 9mm molds are Lee 120 TC and 125 grain RN ... both traditional lube groove. I bought the TC mold for .357 Sig but the boolit it throws performs as well, if not better than, the RN in 9mm.

The RN mold drops at .358" with my alloy and the cases size that down to .357". For the last batch, I've not sized them instead opting to just lube, load and shoot. I've had no cartridge dimensional problems and their performance is as good as any I've ever shot.

The LEE 120 TC 6 is the way to go alright. Good shootin and tight group...can't cast them fast enough with my 6 banger!!!

This is a small SD pistol, hoping it's something the wife can handle, better than full sized 40. I only use TC moulds, would like a 'heavy' @ lower fps to reduce snap. Played with terminal energy, ~ 10 ft/# diff @ 10' for 124gr, I think 147 gr may be too long for good feeding so I'm looking at ~ 130. Gotta make some mag measurements to see what will fit.

TC for SD?

TC for SD Yup. A HP does what for you? SIL, daughter, wife & GKs shot. They all liked it as we'll as the XD.

Check out the sticky on "setting up a new 9mm for boolits".

May save you some time.

Slugged the throat & bbl. Tight! Rem FMJ is 0.353, had to size (loaded) to 0.351 to chamber reliably. Largest case that will fit is 0.375, wall thickness is 0.011 so largest CB is 0.353? Fired case mouth is 0.351 ID, I'll go with that, but a sizer may be a problem. Brass is Win once fired WWB 115 HP, 0.351 @ case mouth, 0.373 @ case, shoots fine. Die set is RCBS 9mm, no problem on a standard XD. Got some 0.356 LRN I'll try some dummies to see how difficult this will be. No, I won't be reaming the chamber - no competent GS in DFW.
