Yesterday I cast my first boolits.

74698

They turned out a lot better than I thought they would for my first time.

Today I developed a load for my 686 using them.

I am pleased with their precision, and am also pleased that they don't seem to be leading my bore. When there isn't a chance of rain I'll chronograph the load. I also need to double check precision when the sun is at my back.

I just thought I should post about it. :)

I just got back into it after 30 years off and it was great to have the first run turn out perfect once the mold was warm.

I had just made my second batch, .312 hardcast, (some ingots I figured to be hard enough to push faster,) and they came along much better than the first batch. I was using a 6 cavity mold thinking it would be more difficult, but made twice as many in 1/4 of the time.

This is so much easier than I thought it would be... hopefully these boolits preform as well as the others.
