SWC work ok ? i like the nice holes in paper i get with my 1911..
how many gr boolit for nice point of impact at 25yds ?
i like clays and have a bunch of it, how many grs ?
would like to find somebody that's gone down this road so i can take the short cut.

You really won't know what diameter to size until you slug the barrel. If you don't slug the barrel I wouldn't size over .356 to start. As far as powder charge I'd go straight to the manufactures web sight once you decide on boolit weight better to get your info straight from the horses mouth so to speak. For boolit design I like NOE 135gr but haven't tried them in a 92 so I'm not sure but it might hit a little high since the 92 is usually used with nato 115gr. Then again the nato load is pretty stout and a 135 handload may have POI just right won't know till you try. Good Luck FB

I shoot 9s w/Lee 356-124 TC ,of course mine water drops 50/50 ww/pure at 360 sized to 358, the BHP clone shoots every boolit I've fed it . As they get slower and heavier it tends to go lower and farther left.
No help for the powder.

Don't take shortcuts. 9mm are sensitive. Most 9s arebover bored. The 92 and its variants are notorious for this. Start with light loads if you are jumping straight to 358. There can be an increase in pressure if its too large. But you should definitely slug it. 358 might chamber, mine has a roomy chamber and decent bore. Little differences in seating depth makes for big differences in pressure for the 9mm. Most of my loads are compressed and over chsrged, I broke the locking block after 3000 rounds of +p+

thanks for the info.
was hoping to find somebody with a 92 to get me in the ballpark.
i'll slug the barrel when i get it and play with powder to get the slide to lock on the last round.

By swc I assume you mean something around 125gr?

IME two guns of the exact same model can give VERY different results. I also would never recommend a "shortcut" in this hobby...

don't belive their is a "shortcut" to the "sweetspot", just trying to get in the "ballpark" then will "finetune" it....

For the 125gr there's about a half grain difference between min and max using hogdon clays

HOLY **** !!
i am a target kinda guy being happy with just enough to keep the slide locked open after the last round.....

I had a Beretta 92 FS that was overbored. Shot everything in it from swaged to cast to plated to FMJs. Nothing shot good. I thought it was a handheld Beretta shotgun. Got rid of it and got a BHP. Size everything to .358 and it shoots up a storm.

+1. My brigadier is the same. .357 and 3.6 gr Bullseye leads like crazy.

I would not use Clays in 9mm although I love it for light loads in 38/40/45. Clays generates pressure too quickly before driving a bullet to a decent velocity. That will prevent reliable cycling of auto pistols. If you like Hodgdon's Clays technology and clean burning characteristics, try "Universal Clays" (aka Universal) instead. It burns slower like Unique, but burns cleaner. If that's not important, Unique is cheaper and works great in 9mm.

I have a 92fs - It's perfectly happy with .358. I have shot both the Lee 356--120TC and the Miha 125gr HP. The Lee boolits were sized just about .357 and the 125 HP's were .358. Didn't get any lead with either one and they were quite accurate. My Beretta is about 28 years old, an Italian unit. Nice gun. Mike

Bought these over the last 2 years. Not sure who made them. The only mark on these barrels is the letter P in a shield.

This may help.

Strongly recommend Lee 356-120 TC and NRA 50-50 lube to start, .357 or .358 seem to work
well in most 9mms.

I have a U.S. made 92 and use the NOE 135 in it with great results. I size .357 for mine, and use Bullseye powder. I won't post charge weight. Since there is no published tested data for the NOE boolit (that I'm aware of) I used data from the Lyman 49th edition for the 147 gr cast boolit and cautiously developed my own load.

I recommend you take a hard look at the throat. I've seen a number of Beretta barrels that look like the throating reamer had a lot of run out. Make sure there's no step between the beginning of the lands and the forward edge of the chamber. Also check for chatter marks where the lands ramp up to full height. Seen that a few times, too.

Both of those will shave lead and give you leading, even with an oversized boolit.

My experience has been Beretta 9x barrels run around .002 above min groove dia.

white label 2500
they are droping out of my cheap lee mold at .357 and just barley touching the sizer.
i am patiently waiting on my mold from Tom at accurate to arrive...
i have some carnuba red too but need to use up all the 2500 i put in there 1st.
i find the 2500 easy to use without a heater in the summer but it's been really hot and humind making it pretty gummy and sticky.
with .358 and carnuba red i think all will be perfect but for now i will use what i have.
the tight groups are there, i just have to use some chore boy when i get back from the range.

Try beagling that mold up about .002 and size to .358.

I have the lee .357 and the .358 sizer dies. The .358 sizes mine to .357. The .357 gives me .356.5 I plan on opening the .358 die so i can get .358

I think you should measure a bullet that is pulled from one of your cases after crimping to see if or how much the bullet is swaged down by the brass. You might be quite surprised making it moot as to what you size your bullets to unless you put the proper expander in your loading set up.

I quit buying j****ed bullets for my berretta after getting this mould. It is my do every thing boolit in my 92fs. With cww it is a great plinker and with 5 to 1 pure to cww it is an excellent expanding boolit. I love power pistol in 9mm. Both paper and trash spreader have never complained. Best of luck.
