I know it's not casting related but I'm in dire need of knowledge as to whether these are junk or quality. It's what they rate as a 5 grade with ejectors in good-very good cond for $675

Thoughts please

I looked at a bunch of these online, including Cabelas Gun Room, and the are all priced much higher than the price you quoted.

true, but a 9 grade is A LOT more lavish gun than a 5 grade. Wondered if anyone knew as to their quality? Lock up, function, etc

I've heard good things about them, but never shot one. My ex-wife's uncle had a nice cased 12 gauge which he swore by for woodcock. I am not sure of the grade--it has been 35 years, but it was a much nicer gun than the utilitarian pumps and box locks that made up the hunting gear of most of my relatives back then. I am not sure that the market accurately reflects the value of the higher end guns. I saw a 12 E last year at an auction that was a marvelous looking gun, complete with case, and it went for less than 3,000, far less than I would have thought.

However, even the grade 4E guns are pretty nice, IMO, well worth the price you mentioned. If it fit me and felt good in the hands, I'd buy it The higher grade guns are the equal of anything that ever came out of Spain, and, dare I say it, for that matter equal to Brit guns costing two or three times as much. Stoeger used to import them back in the 60's and 70's. Out of production for years, parts are a problem, but a quality shotgun will shoot a lot of rounds before wear and/or breakage becomes a problem.

Well worth the money. I envy you.
Take a stroll down to a gun shop today and see what you can get for $675--heck that's just a down payment on some clunky plastic pumps and autos. Or try buying a modern manufactured sidelock--I'll just about guarantee you've owned cars that cost less. And given the constant rise in prices since the Spanish gun makers mostly went under, I dare say you'll never lose money on it.

Honestly I don't need it. Don't really have good bird hunts here, but when he started getting all desperate and got down to 650 plus shipping = 675 How does one say no?
