I need to buy a few for a couple calibers(9mm & 45acp). What diameter lead balls do I need and where can they be bought?

melt some soft lead into an old case with a propane torch of the type you want to slug like a 38 special for a 38/357.

Then use inertia boolit puller to know out "slug" it will have the taper from the case on 1 end thats the end you put in barrel.
oil barrel and start it in.

Credit goes to someone on this site works well but then since i melt the lead into the clean case with a propane torch I figue the case would be very soft anneled which it is so i toss it and do not relaod it.

Take a fishing sinker and roll it between 2 hard surfaces until it is just a little larger than the barrel.

I am a little crud here as I take a finish hammer to flatten and widen a boolit

Last time I slugged a bore I used Wal Mart fishing line sinkers and got them to the needed diameter between two squares of steel plate stock. A little rollin' and hammerin' and I had what I needed in no time.

I use a strip of scrap 1/2" plywood. I drill a bunch of holes through it (different sizes) and clamp it to a piece of flat steel. Fill the holes with melted roof jack, or other (closr to) pure lead, let cool and break away the plywood.

This falls into the infamous, "Why didn't I think of that" category. This I shall remember.
