These are the small hp boolits. 45 acp 8.0 gr HS6 fired into 55 gallon drum of water. Cast 50/50. Any thoughts on results?

I'm pretty sure the results upon contact with flesh would not be pleasant (for the receiver). Looks very good for HD/SD.

I, for one, don't want to get hit with one!

Look very effective.

I'm not so sure. Given that not much shank looks to be left, and expanded diameter looks to be nearly one inch, I'm not certain penetration is all it could be. Great varmint bullet for sure, but for big guys with heavy clothing at poor angles and intervening cover like an arm or some such I'd want somewhat less expansion.

I would think that with the expansion shown a hit on any bodypart would result in a devestating wound channel a mitigate over penetration in an inside the home use. I wouldnt have a problem using these although I might want a little less expansion than shown

Way too much expansion. They would make a nasty wound but likely only superficial. You need penetration! A .45 starts out larger than many other bullets ever gets; add tin.

I was thinking of adding tin to make the alloy more malleable. Sized and lubed they are 238 grains. The top 3 expanded boolits weighed 236,234 & 205 grains. It seemed like the boolits had a slightly brittle look on the pedals. They are very accurate in both my Sig 1911 and my Colt. Thanks for the input fella's. Always looking to learn.
