View Full Version : 3rd hand for Lee Hardness Tester

Made this little gadget to assist in useing the Lee tester as it is really hard to hold everything in place. The dimensions are not critical other than the
7/16" hole needs to be directly above the bullet grove. I used a curved router bit to cut the grove so it's easy to rotate or slide the bullet easily. A V grove would work as well.

I use the same method but with a simpler tool :) An empty ice cream bucket with the Lee tester poked through and with some cutouts for light, does the trick for me. Yours look better though ! I don't know how Lee think that the hardness tester could bee used without a stand.For me this was an impossible task, anyway.

Looks good. Clean, neat tool..

FWIW; I guess I'm not as creative as the OP, so I just use a magnifying head band/visor (4x) and a dial caliper.
