I have been searching and calling trying to find a 13/16", .45 caliber, 42" long barrel blank in anything from 1 in 22 to 1 in 48 or so with absolutely no luck. Green Mountain is zero balance as is Rayl and a couple more. What is going on? Is the scare hitting that deep into the ML world as well?

Most barrel makers ( especially the upper rated ones) Not only make thier speacilty barrels but also have contracts to produce for firerams manufacturers. This rush/scare has put firearms sales thru the roof and all are running overtime to keep up with their big customers first.

Last December, I ordered a .25 barrel from Lothar Walther, and got it in the time frame stated when I ordered the barrel. 6-8 weeks. Was no rush. Price was not hateful, and when it arrived, I was gratified. Look them up online. Occasionally I see them on fleabay, but at a price much higher than my custom made barrel.

You might try Jim Carpenter 208-582-2091. He bought Orion barrel company several years back and has been drilling blanks for me.
