I picked up this mould today at a show for 5 dollars in near perfect condition. I have been intrigued with this design for sometime, but have never seen one until today. Does anyone have any experience with using this in the 38 special? This and the similar design for the 44 special were the very first wadcutter bullets designed about 1900 by Himmelwright. Any idea how rare this mould is? Thanks

Nice find! I picked one up a few years ago and cast up a batch to play around with. I never have gotten around to loading them (mainly because I haven't gotten around to machining a nose-punch for sizing them or seating them yet). It's a neat bullet and one that you don't see moulds for very often. The .44 was first, and this one came about a year or two later.
