Hi all I have just picked up a '92 32/20 (1928)
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i193/smlekid/IMG_0303.jpg (http://s72.photobucket.com/user/smlekid/media/IMG_0303.jpg.html)
the rifle appear to have been played with it has an aftermarket barrel (slugs at .310") I don't think the checkering is supposed to be there

can anyone tell me what the sight graduations are on the carbine sights?

I am going to shoot it today I have 50 Winchester factory loads (100gr lead) I've got a Mould coming from Swede (NOE 315 115Gr. SWC) that I hope will feed OK ion the rifle just waiting on my dies and brass to arrive
I picked this up for a song as a shooter not much collector value with this one action is tight a couple of CAS lokked at it yesterday and commented on high tight the action was
I'll post some pictures later of how it shoots

NICE little SRC!! They were made to shoot, not to collect. That's why they put the hole down the middle of the barrel. I'd love to have it, or one just like it, for a strictly fun little shootin' gun. I've had several '92's over the years - currently don't have any - and they are one of John Browning's finest inventions.

I haven't really had a chance to do much of a range test as yet I only got to put it on paper at 25m on our pistol range it looks like it wants to shoot 3 shot group touching and a 5 shot group with 4 into 3 holes and one pulled about 1" high (basic driver error[smilie=1:)
I fired it at some tennis ball sized rocks at 100m using the sight flipped up and they were not safe a lot of fun to shoot like a big 22lr this was all with Winchester factory ammunition lead round nose
I have had a set of dies on order for a month and still haven't seen them so I have ordered another set plus 300 unprimed Starline case and hopefully my NOE Mould will be here soon I can't wait!!!!

Sounds like a shooter! I was able to get a mold, sizer, dies and cases all from Midway a few weeks back when I bought a 32-20 revolver. Amazing! Don't forget to order a shellholder, I thought I had them all...Wrong!

Somebody got pretty energetic with a checkering tool.

You're going to have a great deal of fun plinkin' with that little carbine. 32-20 is nothin' but fun! Doesn't use too much powder or lead. Straight walled cases last a long long time. Does the job on pretty much anything that weighs 40 lbs. (17-18 kilos for you metric thinkers) or less.

Congrats on a great little Winchester SRC.

Still waiting on my mould but my dies and brass has arrived found a box of 90gr Sierra bullets locally so loaded some up
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i193/smlekid/IMG_0312.jpg (http://s72.photobucket.com/user/smlekid/media/IMG_0312.jpg.html)
first Picture is Winchester Factory lead round nose at 50m 10 shots
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i193/smlekid/IMG_0313.jpg (http://s72.photobucket.com/user/smlekid/media/IMG_0313.jpg.html)
next up 11grs of AR2205 (H4227 as it is sold in the States)
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i193/smlekid/IMG_0314.jpg (http://s72.photobucket.com/user/smlekid/media/IMG_0314.jpg.html)
12grs AR2205
http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i193/smlekid/IMG_0315.jpg (http://s72.photobucket.com/user/smlekid/media/IMG_0315.jpg.html)
and lastly 13grs of AR2205 the current ADI reloading manual has loads up to 14grs with a 100gr bullet
it appears to me that the faster load has a bit of potential all loads were fired at 50m using the sight folded down it is shooting quite a bit low aiming mark was the bottom of the white square I'm hoping the 115gr SWC may shoot a bit higher
I was hoping to chrony these loads but my battery was going flat and I was getting some weird speeds
the 13gr load was the most consistent around 1850fps the lighter loads were all over the place some 150fps difference the 13gr load settled right down will try again with a new battery and hopefully some cast boolits when my mould arrives

Looks like that's going to make a great varmint extinguisher. 4227 is a good powder choice for 32-20.

I think my Mod. 92 32-20 is one of the most fun cartridge guns I have ever shot. 4.5 gr. of Unique behind a 115gr boolit works well for me. Congrats on your nice rifle, I'm sure you will enjoy it.
