How can I remove blue hard lube from purchased boolits? This is the stuff that is like color crayon wax. Can you boil them and skim/drain off the wax?

Why do you want the lube removed? I do not see why boiling them would do any harm, Maybe try it with a couple and see what happens....

You can try boiling but 212 deg. F. might not be hot enough to melt the lube completely.

If you've got an electric heat gun...the kind used for stripping paint or removing floor tile...just dump those commercial boolits in an old metal pan and use the heat gun (on the 'high' setting) to melt off the old lube.

No heat gun? Set 'em base down on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper (to keep melted lube from sticking to the cookie sheet) and stick 'em in the oven at 300-350 deg. for 15 minutes or so.

I've put them in the oven on paper towels or brown paper bags, maybe 300F.

I don't remove it.

Just tumble them in LLA or Xlox

Boiling did the job. they just oxidized slightly. Putting them in the oven took most of it off. But left a thin layer still on them.

Thanks guy's and have a good night.
