I went to a local large flea market today and scored. I picked up a brand new in the box Muzzleloading pistol kit for $15.00

Now I just got to figure out a good browning solution.

Birchwood Casey's Plum Brown works quite well and is easy to apply. Looks wonderful on BP guns.

Greetings
Nice find. Super price ! Fleamarkers are treasure troves of interesting objects..
Now that you have seen a blue one, maybe go brown on yours. If you do not like it the surface colors are easily removed with any rust remover.
Last kit I built was a Hawken that I Browned.. It really had a great look to it.

Seen one browned with string or thread wrapped in a pattern once then browned it gave a really neat damascus look to it. Not sure how the guy did it but it really made a nice looking finish. He had a lot of loops twist and "nocthes" randomly done. It was a 20mm muzzle loader barrel replaced on a vulcan gun.

plumb brown works great. Biggest thing is to follow the directions. Temp control, and the finish is wonderful.

Oh, and ditto, I want one. In flint, complete with that nifty belt clip. Maybe a rat-tail stock for fun.

Thanks all for the advice. I appreciate it. I think I am going to brown this one and see how I like it.

Fly, that double derringer is pretty neat buddy.
