After mulling over the advice I was given from my other thread, "mold and casting confusion" I sat back down with the remaining bullets I casted from the Lyman 331041 die and sorted them out.
What I noticed is a what may have happened. I found 7-8 bullets that looked like the mold was too cold then a good 45-50 that looked good, then another 15 that where frosted or had a fin and were oblong. Which made me take a close look at the mold and I saw some build up on the inside.

Once I sorted through I then loaded up 10 rounds of the Lyman 173gr useing my small game load of 9.5gr of Unique (lee 1cc dipper) that I load with a Oregon trail 165gr pb and went to the "dump" and shot this group with the 30-30 off the top of the car at 60 paces.
The 3 shots outside the bull are scope adjustments, a little 2.5x BSA pistol scope.

looks to me like you need more practice on breathing and squeezing. The bullets appear to be doing fine.

That or I was shooting off the top of the car. Although with my first cast from the mold a 1in 8 shot group seems to be a good start.

This pic is with a good load from the bench at 50yds open sight five shots.
