Well, the original "short mag" seems to be calling my name......again. I fought it off the first time as un-necessary. I don't know if I can resist this time. I found a NIB Rem M-7 CDL in 350 RM. I really like the Model 7 and have one of the first ones made in 6mm. Anyone with experience with the 350 RM and cast? Thoughts, comments, pro's, con's, experiences???? HELP!!!!!

I shot 25g of H4227 in a custom Sako in 350 Mag with 250g bulelts. It had a 22" barrel and speed was 1600.This was 20 years ago but i seem to remember groups about 2" at 100 yards. This one had a very big throat and a 1-12 twist for 300g bullets(that were no fun to shoot full power BTW) My Remington Classics in 35 Whelen with the 1-16 will stabilize the 358009 at 1600 just fine.None of the 3 or my buddies 40X Benchgun 358 win shot the beloved by all(but not me) RCBS 200 FP worth beans but the custom order RCBS 35-250 SP is a top dog.

My Rem 350 CDL shoots the RCBS 200 great! Here is a pic of three groups shot with it. WW with a touch of Lino. My Ruger 77 in 358 Win shoots the same boolit equally well.

+1 on the RCBS 35-200-FN, should fit the short neck if the 350 mag very well.

I use the RCBS 200gr gc rifle bullet in my 350 mag as well as 357 mag rifle & single shot pistol with excellent results.

SAECO 352 (250-ish grain boolit) is great in my M77 chambered in 350. One hole groups at 75 yards are possible at around 1900 fps muzzle velocity.

I carry a modified Ruger M77MKII Stainless in 350 Remington mag on a regular basis. I have not yet tried cast bullets in her.. Well I take that back.... I did try some 158 grain cast lead pistol bullets. They were not very accurate, but I now know (from reading here) they were too soft and I was loading them much too fast...
I modified the magazine box and feed rails so mine will shoot old 275 grain Barnes and/or 280 grain Swift A-frame bullets very well.

My model 700 Classic has a very long throat and leade. I've not gotten around to trying cast in it. Does your rifle also have a long throat and leade, and if so how do you seat your bullets? To fill the throat? Crimp groove @ case mouth? I would be very pleased if I could get results such as yours.

We have a custom 280gn LFN style boolit in our 35 cal line up and it shot extremely well from a 350 mag at up to 2400 fps.
