What are your thoughts? My trapdoor never did all that well with their 405 gr hollow base, and I thought I'd try this one before shelling out for a more expensive one.

No need to pay for custom. A trapdoor can be made to work well with about any mold for 45 rifle over about 400gn weight to a bit over 500gn.
The trick to getting a boolit that is smaller than groove diameter to shoot well is #1 use a soft alloy something like between bhn-8 at the hardest and pure lead. #2 is if your not using black powder use a fast burning powder not slower than 2400.
If you follow steps #1 and #2 it is possible to get very good accuracy from boolits as small as bore diameter to shoot very well from barrels with larger than normal groove diameter such as is seen in many trapdoors.
My trapdoor has a groove diameter of .462" and with it I get very good accuracy from PP boolits cast at .444" patched up to .451" and from GG boolits as small as .457"

I had that boolit and shot them in both a 1873 Trap Door and a custom Siamese Mauser. They shot well in both guns but when you boost the speed and pressure up in the Mauser it was a little tough on my shoulder.
