I want to order some bullets from Missouri Bullet, but I can't decide on whether I should get the 140gr or the 155gr bullet. The reason is because load data for lead bullets in 40 cal is very limited. I have several load data manuals and the only one that lists data for the 155 grain is Lee and I can't find any data for the 140 grain. Is there some data available that I'm not aware of? Surely some of you shoot lead through your 40's, so I need some advice. thanks.

I just got my 40 last Friday, but here's a link to Accurate Arms data, it has some lead bullet loads, the 140gr included.

Their 180 shoots good. I just use mid jacketed data for W231 or unique - it's not going over 1k fps.

in shooting lead through my G27 and G20 i start the loads 10% less than the same weight j-word bullet, and chorny to see where it is at velocity wise, and measure casehead expansion to see where the pressures are at... if less than 1000 fps i just tumble lube which works fine in my 40 cal Glocks with replacement barrels, more speed than that i use a plain base check

Load all depends on the gun and what you want to do with it. The bullets weights you list will run nice out of my G22 with 4gr of BE.

It all depends on the nose profile.
If the gun won't feed it, it is useless.
Mine likes the 180 gr
My 155's wont feed.

No competition involved, just looking for something to punch paper and keep expense as low as possible and I do not need a real heavy bullet. I have a good supply of BE, Unique, Universal, Red Dot and Blue Dot. By the way, the 401-175TC feeds great in my Glock, so my thinking is that the 140 grain may be the better choice; or maybe the 180 grain....

I have 2 lee molds for 40, the 401-145 SWC, and the 401-175 TC. If they made a 155 or 160 RF, I'd be all over that like nobody's business. So far, I've been mostly running the 175 TC (mine drops 180 with range scrap) and BAC lube. I'm dying to powder coat some and try them with and without some plain based checks. Personally, I don't think whey will need checks but hey, I have some and they look cool. I've already done some 9mm and .45 ACP PCd with checks and they look awesome! Hopefully I can send some down range this afternoon.

Sirgnight, the 175 and the 145 boolits feed in my Glocks quite well. I sent you a PM.
