I have cast a bunch of Ranchdog 432-265s for my Marlin I am loading them with 17.5 gr. of 2400 Can I also run these through my Ruger Alaskan. the cylinder throats on that measure 429.9 the boolits are dropping right at .432 and weight is 275 grains

Also can I wipe the lube off of the exposed nose of the loaded round or should I just leave it?

The RD 432-265 was designed for the Marlin 336 chambered in 444 Marlin which is the reason you'll likely need to size approx. .001-.002". I would check the diameter of all chamber throats and size so the boolit won't pass through the widest throat without a bit of finger pressure. If the other chambers are too tight under those conditions, I would polish them out (with Clover Lapping compound).

In my SRH .454, the throats are a very consistent .452", and if the boolit protrudes enough to enter the throat, the rounds won't chamber if the boolits are sized any more than .452".

If the same condition exists in your Alaskan .44 magnum, you may have problems.

Use an old sock and paint thinner to wipe off the noses. They'll look better and not collect pocket or whatever debris.

heres what I would do.
put some loaded rounds I made for my marlin in the cylinders of my ruger.
then I would pull the trigger while aiming at some paper.
after I got tired/bored/or lost accuracy, I would then look down the barrel and in the cylinders to see how clean things are.
at that point I would either keep on shooting or do an analysis of any issues I seen..

I would try to stay away from .003 over, but I do strive to shoot .002 larger then bore. I also have a ranch dog and size my boolits to .432. They shoot great out of my marlin 1894 and s&w 629. I sometimes wipe off. I think they look nicer when they're clean, and they wont collect debris. The part that you see out of the case doesn't (shouldn't) touch the rifling anyways so it's personal preference.

I have two Ranch Dog .44 molds; a 240 gr. and the 265 gr. I size them both to .432" 'cause I like to shoot them in my Puma .44 that has a large, .432"+ groove diameter. I also shoot them with no ill effects through my Ruger SBH and 629 that have .430" throats.

As for lube, I dip lube my cast RDs in 45-45-10 and set them base down to dry. No lube on the noses.
