Day began nice enough, mid 30s, time to smelt.

Decided I would load some 45 ACP rounds for my Blackhawk since the machine was set up for that round. I was loading the H&G #34 bullet the last round so I only needed to adjust the seating depth. After about 20 rounds the press began to bind. I hate that & figured something simple but not so.

I disassembled the press fairly sure of the problem. Off came the linkage & out came the ram.
The bare frame:

The linkage:

The problem, galling of the link arm where it attaches to the frame. I have a Dillon 450 which had the same problem.

With the problem solved it was back to loading.

I missed the "problem solved" part other than I assume you polished the galled pins. I don't, however, remember seeing the grease ports on the Dillon linkages, is that the mod? Use a needle-tip in a grease gun and squirt a little moly grease in there periodically?

Not a mod from me, I assume factory. I did a little lite dressing with a round file & polished the pin with sand paper. Forgot to put that in there.

those little holes are oil points, I oil there and in between the two parts with a little oil pen or with the little red straw on the G-96 can.
a drop or two about every 4-5,000 rounds keeps them running smooth.
I have a 450 that is from [I dunno when] I gave 20-30 bucks for it in a pawn shop in the mid-late 80's and set it up at my pop's place.
he used it the whole time I was off wandering the world on uncle sam's dime.
and I have used it ever since.

Small world as I had the same problem a few months back with my Dillon 450. Same fix as yours and working like a champ ever since. Like an idiot I never thought about taking it apart and lubing it prior to the problem. [smilie=b:
