Welcome to the broken sprue plate club bhop. I broke mine on my first day of casting with the lee 6 banger. Go to the lee website and use their customer service section. You will need to download a pic of the broken sprue plate. They sent me one free of charge. I also paid for a few extras from I believe fsreloading.com. it is part no SC1156 on their website. Just in case this occurs again I will be up and running in a few min and not a week or more. Do some googling and you will see this is not an uncommon problem. Make very sure the sprue handle is completely closed before pouring. Also make sure the mold is warmed up well. I did a session yesterday - filled one cavity then cut sprue, filled two cavities then cut sprue etc. In this way the mold is warmed with the least stress on the handle. Also make sure you cut the sprue soon after the lead frosts over. The lee products aren't the highest quality but they are economical. I tried contacting kal but did not receive a response. Would have preferred to get a high quality steel sprue plate cam lever. Anyway, contact lee and get a free replacement. Get a few extras if you can find them and do a little research on steps to heating the mold as i briefly outlined above. Good luck.

I got this steel plate from mpmolds in europe, came over on a boat. I love it! I just hit the vertical bolt sticking up with my plastic hammer. This is lee 90352 six hole for 45acpR.N..

I do this below to all my molds:

BTDT! Well I didn't, I borrowed that mold to a buddy.

I sent that pic to Lee, they sent me 2 new cams. Took 2 days, they're just a piece down the road from me.

Pre-heat those lee 6 bangers on a hot plate BEFORE casting. Then the sprues cut with little effort, no broken cams.

+1 on preheating on a hot plate. I haven't broken one and don't plan to. Even preheating I pour only the first two cavities first to test, then two more, etc.
