I have a Lee 44 cal. 240 grn mold that was producing 240 ish boolits consistently the first few times I used it. Now for some reason it's throwing 250 gn boolits! Can it be the lead?

Has to be your mix.
Or your scale.

Are the mold faces clean? If you get some lead inbetween the mold faces it can hold the mold open enough that the boolits will be heavier.

First question that comes to mind: what alloy/mix are you using? You're indicating a roughly 4% increase in weight which could easily be caused by a change in the mix of your alloy. Boolits from my Lee 44-200-RNFP run about 196 gr cast from straight WWs but weight increases to 204-205 gr cast from 50/50 WWs/range scrap...the range scrap having a typically high percentage of pure lead from jacketed handgun rounds.

Checked on 2 different scales, mold faces are clean so mold meets perfectly & using the same WW lead as last casting. I also noticed my 38 mold of 125gn is throwing about 129gn. My 9mm is dead on at 125gn & my 45 is also dead on at 200gn. Thanks for the input guys.

ww lead isn't iso 9001 controlled it is lead and stuff made to balance a tire and weigh about the same weight from weight to weight in a mold.
your variation could be as simple as the alloy.
it could also be an alloy temp variation or mold temp variation combination.
