with deep apologies to those of you in the um...more Northern climes....we had our first official meal on the grill. BBQ chicken, grilled corn on the cob (still in their husks) and grilled romaine lettuce salad with blue cheese dressing. oh my-it was so good! best of all, I didn't have to cook!
Best I can figure, I won't have to cook another meal until October!

Well there ya go Mrs. Jim, just rub it in deep. I'll bet it didn't take many baby blue eye flashes to conn Jim into grillin supper, huh? Be honest now , how much of that sippin whiskey did he spill on his chicken pieces while cookin? We, as others here, grill most all year too.

Always grillin' season here in Texas! I did some jalapeno poppers on the grill last night. And I am in the process of building a smaller BBQ smoker so I can BBQ more often. (it takes too much wood to heat up the big smoker for one brisket)

Glad you got Jim a new grill. Keep him busy and keep him out of trouble! Enjoy!

When we lived in Michigan, we grilled on the average of 4 times a week. Snowing or not!

Hey crabo, was that all for you, or did ya share. I'd sure like to eat at your table. That looks good.

When I grill, I always try to grill about 3 or four times what we will eat that meal. The meat we are going to keep, I pull off a little early, and freeze it in bags. We pull out a bag at a time and reheat.

One of my favorites is boneless rib meat. (above the bacon wrapped shrimp and to the left of the buffalo steaks.) I marinade it in tiger sauce for a couple of hours and season with something like Cavender's Greek Seasoning. Try it, it will be the best pork chops or rib meat you have ever had. Use some of Rudy's BBQ sauce on it and you will think you have died and gone to heaven.

I never have a problem getting friends to come over for dinner. We supply the meat and have them bring side dishes and deserts.

It's nice having a couple of pecan trees in the yard to add a little smoke.

Down here, any time is grilling time. Any meat, fruit or veggie is game. iI it gets below 50 most folks around here say it's cold. I laugh at them and say, "Hey you ever been in Chicago in January"............most have no clue. Found a store that sells all natural grass fed beef, low fat and grills up perfect in just a few minutes. Now seafood is just perfect, swimming in the AM, on the grill in the PM.......

Just pulled some chicken breasts off the grill that I marinated for over 24 hours. They were delicious

That's not a Big Green Egg, or is it?

It's a Kamado Joe http://www.kamadojoe.com/index.php

Great grill from which I can just about guarantee better BBQ than your local joint. I use a BBQ Guru to control the temp for a long overnight smoking session. There's also a remote thermometer to monitor the process.

We grill year round. In many blizzards, rain storms, 60mph wind, you name it.
But I built a vent hood with a fan and a light over mine, and its in the tool room only about 25 feet from the bar and kegerater. It dont matter what its doing outside, we're sipping beverages and grilling where its nice.

If the weathers nice, I use natural charcoal and wood in either the charcoal grill outside or the firepit on the patio.
