It has been a while since any powder was available here, but I stopped by sportsmans for some ear plugs and some snap caps and they had powder.

They are limiting it to 2 pounds or 1 keg per customer, but cheaper than it was before all this madness started. I picked up a pound of unique and 2400 for 23.99 a pound. That might sound high to you guys, but is cheap for here. They also had small magnum pistol primers, so I picked up the last brick that was on the shelf.

prices still a little high here, i went to pittsburg to pick up a metal lathe off of craigslist a couple of weeks ago and while there i noticed a 5 lb keg of blue dot and a 8 lb keg of winchester 296. bought both full cans for 40 bucks each. looked around a little and there on the top shelf was an unopened can (old style) of 2400, got it for 10.00.
looked around a little more and bought a mec 600 jr and 1k AA hulls, 750 AA wads and 500 primers for another 50. i love it when people move, i left a very very happy camper. visited a local store near where i am working yesterday and today and they have anything and everything you want or need, powder, primers, bullets, boolits, dillon, redding rcbs, lyman and full shelves of ammo. almost as if the world never found this business.

Wish I could say the same. Was near a local huntin'-and-fishin' chain (well, it's two stores) that competes pretty well with Cabelas and Gander Mountain, so I detoured to see. All they had for powder was 4 1-pounders of Steel and three of 7828SC. No primers at all. Lots of brass, lots of boxes of J-warts, though.

I'm not suffering, except I sure would like to find a keg of Varget. The one thing I wasn't stocked up on when the drought hit.

I wonder if demographics don't come into play on the powder and primers. Some areas it seems like theres not many who reload vs some areas you have a lot of reloaders.
Like around here theres not alot of reloaders that i know of, but I go 60 mi away to where I used to live as a kid and I know alot of people around the area who reload.

Well I went back this evening just out of curiosity. There was a single keg of greendot and nothing else, other than a few 100 packs of shotgun primers.
I am not sure why the price was less than it used to be, and even with the 2 pound limit (or 1 keg) it didn't last a day. lol

Not only am I surprised at the price, I'm surprised at the type of powders. 2400 and Unique! If they had 4895 it would be a trifecta.

The Sportsman Warehouse in Rocklin, CA. had only 3 one pound cannisters of powder left in stock. 300MP and I do not use it. Good thing I stocked up over the past three years on powder, primers, brass, and plenty of smelted lead to go with the boolit molds. Still even have about 7,000 rounds of 22lr in value packs for the grandkids to shoot up.

I don't know where you are in Ohio, but you might want to try the Sportsman's Den in Shelby. I was there just this week and had pretty much all the powders (except 2400) and all sizes of primers (Rem/CCI/ Winchester).

Man I wish that Sportsman Warehouse was in another state because I could use those 3 pounds of 300MP but won't buy from Cali.

Nothing in anchor town sportiest for powder, primers, cold beer or good looking women... I can't find the magical shopping cart with all of the goodies in it either.... I guess some folks hee got a scolding for employee hoarding...

I just got a pound of 300 MP for free as 3rd Gen mistakenly sent one in an order instead of the 1200 we had ordered. Got a refund for the pound of 1200. With the shipping and hazmat the 8# cost $29 Lb.

No love...... Still the same couple of pounds of steel and e3. They did have a VERY few LRP and LPP, didn't need any of those.

Checked the SH here today and I was too late. There was a couple jugs of Red Dot left, but that's not what I was looking for.

On Target in Kalamazoo has powder, lots of powder, all the staple kinds. The odd thing I noticed was the cans and bottles of some look distinctly aged and shopworn. Prices not too bad, they have never been cheap there. They have 224 FMJ bullets at about $20 per hundred. They have large rifle Magnum primers. No 22 ammo that I saw. They have 5.56 ammo at about $.75 a shot. They have reloaded 9mm and 40 and 45 ammo for sale, didn't check the price. It looked shinier than new factory ammo.

Schantz supply in Otsego has most kinds of powder and have always been the most reasonable place to buy powders in the area. I got an 8 pounder of Herco when the wind was still changing for about $90. They have been keeping their primers under glass in the show case and you have to ask for what you want. I believe they limit you to 1000 primers per day and they will remember you. Good place to buy tires also. They keep a tight hold on the wheel weights though.

Natchez has 8lb Kegs of 300MP in stock right now, I was looking at it as Alliant has posted some stellar numbers for it. Almost hard to believe velocity numbers.

Sportsmans had powder AGAIN today, so it looks like it is starting to come in more often. there wasn't a lot, but there was 231,296 h110,4350 and a couple of othere, plus there was holes on the shelf like there might have been some more stocked this morning. I am sure it will all disappear by closing today. lol
