I asked this on the muzzle-loader section and aint gettting far. I have a good sized amount of lead from a bullet trap,in a guys basement. Sure that it is .22lr and maybe pellet lead. Is this close to pure lead? Want to make round balls with it if it is. Thanks, mark

Call it 99 percent lead, Mark, and be done with it because it came from a home trap. If the lead is from European target stuff, like from ranges having competition shoots, the lead will have a good percentage of bismuth. Bismuth makes the lead both heavier and harder, which provides for a better ballistic coefficient and hold the rifling much better. ... felix

American .22s have something like a half to one percent of antimony.
